Our bustling bodega is now open in downtown Bremerton! Come see us at 421 Park Ave.
In fall 2018 we assumed a lease at 421 Park Ave, Bremerton, the former location of Park Avenue Pets. The approximately 1,500 square-foot space required a number of renovations to support grocery sales, and we developed a two stage approach to completing them, allowing us to set incremental fundraising targets. This store will be small by conventional grocery standards, but similar co-ops in the region are able to successfully meet demand for their products.
Stage 1 *COMPLETE* - On July 4, 2019 we opened the front two thirds of our space (800 sq ft). With several commercial coolers donated to us earlier this year, we'll be able to stock produce, local meat, and other fresh foods requiring refrigeration. The store carries a limited selection of products from most major grocery classes. Our goal is to provide all your most basic day-to-day grocery needs in a small, efficient space.
Stage 2 - We’ll use the Stage 1 store to build support for the full build of our space. This stage will add more refrigeration (including a combination display-front/walk-in refrigerator/freezer), a specialized grocery point-of-sale system, and a mini prep kitchen allowing us to sell fresh sandwiches, baked goods, smoothies, and unique deli items made in-house along with an expanded selection of groceries. We will increase our retail space and expand our hours of service.
